To the Manor Born

TCH Greystones also planted...

...a congregation for Chinese students led my Mark and Denise, meeting in the home of a Chinese couple interested in the gospel.

It was eventually agreed that this initiative should leave the Crowded House network and link up with Inner City Life. The remaining TCH Greystones congregation became for a while ‘TCH Millhouses’ as its location changed, before merging into Sharrowvale. The Sharrowvale congregation became known as 'TCH Sharrowvale'. In 2006 'TCH 215' was planted.

In 2003 Adam Tyson joined after graduating in London. Adam came with a vision to plant on the Manor, an estate in Sheffield once described as the worst in Britain. This was the beginning of the Manor Team – the realisation of a dream Steve had long had to plant in this needy area. Adam spent a couple of years with TCH Sharrow before moving onto the Manor with Clare Lawson and Jen Baxter in a house bought by other members of TCH, Malcolm and Rachel Savage. They have since been joined by other Christians so there is now a team of around eight people, building relationships, running a pub quiz, looking to plant when leaders are in place.

In 2005 TCH Sharrow multiplied into two congregations: TCH Sharrow with a focus on reaching people from other reigious backgrounds and TCH Abbey with a focus on reaching working class urban people in the Abbeydale area of Sheffield.

For a while TCH Crookesmoor divided into two congregations, ‘TCH On The Hill’ and ‘TCH S10’. But the loss of key personal led to these congregations remerging into TCH Crookes which has itself subsequently disbanded into other congregations.
