Angie

My name’s Angie and I live in Sheffield. I’ve been a Christian for about seven years. My life was an awful mess before I found freedom in Christ. I couldn’t see beyond the pain of a break-up from a long-term relationship and my past was beginning to catch up on me.

I had been abused as a child and young, and I also suffered from an eating disorder. I had never dealt with any of these issues, but instead I’d turned to food, and drink to numb my pain. At my lowest point during this period a Christian came to fix my boiler. But – praise God! – he did more than fix my boiler! I see now that he was a messenger sent to lead me to Christ so that Christ could fix me.

Trusting in Christ was, and is, my salvation. God has given me a new life, one that is worth living. I live for him. The Crowded House Oasis is the family that God has given me – something that I’m really thankful for.

Today I’m a child of God and I trust him to help manage my past pain and sin issues. Confronting my eating disorder is a daily battle but, with my Father’s help, this is manageable. I’m losing weight and I’m determined to take better care of this body, the temple, that the Lord so graciously gave me. Thank you Jesus.
