TCH Loughborough

The Soup Run Gospel Community is part of the Loughborough Gathering of The Crowded House church planting network. Our aim is to reach the marginalised and needy in Loughborough through providing them with a hot meal on Wednesday evenings.
We have been running the soup run since September 2009 having been involved since October 2008. On a typical Wednesday evening we meet up at 8pm to pray for God's blessing over our mission before arriving at 9pm outside the public library, where the soup run takes place. Each week we have a hot meal to hand out to people, as well as soup, fruit, cakes, and hot and cold drinks. God has also provided us with enough money to keep a stock of sleeping bags in case anyone needs one.
Wednesday nights have been an invaluable time of meeting broken and needy people. We now have a number of relationships where we are meeting up with people outside of the Wednesday night slot. This allows us to get to know them better and serve them, with the ultimate aim of sharing the gospel with them and seeing them saved.
As well as Wednesday evenings, we attend the fortnightly Loughborough Gathering on Saturday mornings and weekly teaching meetings on Sunday afternoons. As much as we are committed to the marginalised and needy, we are committed to each other as a family on mission. As a result we often spend time eating together, chatting and praying through struggles and generally hanging out!
